Contrary to popular belief staying fit doesn’t have to be a difficult task. To discover how to maintain your current level of fitness without having to make major changes to your lifestyle, simply continue reading to discover how to stay fit and healthy.

If you don’t have time for a one hour workout, fit a short 20 minute workout in:

No matter how committed you are to your workouts, occasions will arise when you’ll be pressed for time and may only have 20 minutes to fit a quick, effective workout into your day. While you may be tempted to skip your workout, when you’re extremely busy, fitting an intense 20 minute workout into your day, will help you maintain your current level of fitness. As an example, if you have a jump rope, you may want to skip for 20 minutes as skipping for 20 minutes boasts the same cardiovascular benefits as running for 60 minutes.

While it’s important to complete proper workouts 5-6 days a week, if you want to stay fit it’s also a great idea to find extra ways to get your heart pumping and to accumulate extra steps. As examples you can burn extra calories on a daily basis by taking the stairs to get your office, instead of taking an elevator and committing to taking your dog for a walk, when you get home from work. You may even be interested in cycling or walking to work, instead of taking public transport or driving to work.

There’s no better way to start off each day than by getting in a one hour workout. Especially as you’ll have far more energy to dedicate to a morning workout, than you’ll have to give to an evening workout, after a long day at work. So if you normally work out in the evenings, it’s definitely a wise idea to commit to getting up an hour earlier each morning, in order to workout before you head to work.

If you want extra motivation to increase your level of fitness it’s a great idea to sign up for an active challenge such as a fun run or a triathlon.

If you follow all of the fitness tips listed above, you should have no trouble maintaining your current level of fitness. Better yet, you may even find that you’re able to increase your fitness.
