It is a question that every fashion fan has from time to time; what are the current trends to invest in for a chic wardrobe?
Occasionally, there is a question relating to what styles will be in fashion in the next year, in this instance, the spring and summer of 2023. If you are a fan of dresses, it can be a burning query to have, as you want to know which ones to buy before everybody wears them to stay ahead of the fashion curve!
In this article, five dress trends that will be coming in in 2023 are explored, so you can begin building up your wardrobe for spring and summer.
Mini dresses are back in. They had a short stint in the fashion world back in 2020, but they seem to have been spotted on the runways of Chanel and Versace.
A mini dress is exactly what it sounds like; it is shorter than a sundress and exposes more of the thighs. They can have short sleeves, and, in some instances, they may have long sleeves, but this is a personal choice as to which one you wear. The key thing this dress shows off is your legs. Luckily, you don’t have to spend Versace prices to get a mini dress, as they are currently available at froxx.co.uk.
Cut Out Dresses
Cut out dresses are going to be popular, too, and much like the mini dresses, these are exactly what they sound like! Many of them resemble full-length dresses, but they have areas cut out, exposing the skin, usually around the waist and hips.
If you are a bit shy about showing off these areas, don’t worry! These dresses can also look great with undergarments, so you can get the same look without bearing your skin.
Who doesn’t love polka dots? It seems that fashion designers like Valentino have put forward dresses for the spring and summer collections of 2023 that are covered with these famous spots.
Alongside polka dots, other designers have showcased metal studding on their dresses in a similar pattern to traditional polka dot dresses. Of course, a polka dot dress of any color and style is unlikely to go out of fashion. So, if you have one lying around, it’s time to pull it out.
The spring and summer trends in 2022 were dresses that were looser fitting and, indeed, trousers and suits that were looser fitting. In the coming year, it seems that tailored dresses have become the focus of many designers, with many models showcasing dresses that are more fitted to their figures. This can be harder to afford on a tight budget; however, you should aim to have your dress size measured and purchase dresses that are more fitting if you aim to pull off the tailored dress look.
The split dresses are even more daring than the cut out dresses, specifically the thigh-high split dresses, which resemble Jessica Rabbit’s dress. Not exactly good for the workplace but striking for a night out, a split dress is a daring and bold look to pull off. But it is going to be on trend in the coming year, so if you are confident, it can be a good dress to have on hand.
