For many years I was just like many of you, assuming that I may be able to sail through life without ever requiring legal support or counsel. This all changed when I found myself inside the offices of the brilliant Dr. Bruce G. Fagel, seeking support on a particular case which I had found myself involved in. As I was sat there the reality struck me of the situation, and in the months that have passed I now realized that there are in fact an enormous range of reasons why someone may need a lawyer in their life.
If you think that it will never happen to you, here is why it possibly could.
Divorce
Divorce is something that nobody really wants to go through but ultimately we cannot ignore the statistics that one in every two marriages will fail. These are certainly worrying statistics but they are the reality of the situation. Should the worst occur, you will need to have a lawyer on your side to help you navigate the process and to support you in finalizing the terms of the divorce.
Land Dispute
Sometimes a legal case can hit you out of the blue, and that is what happened to a friend of mine after she had a new neighbor in town. Her next neighbor bought the property and quickly began a land dispute with her, over a small patch of land in-between the two properties. things escalated very quickly and now they find themselves in a courtroom, each with legal representation, trying to get to the bottom of their dispute. This could happen before you even know about it.
Business Disputes
One thing which anyone in business should be aware of is the fact that disputes can happen very quickly indeed and this is yet another reason why you may need a business lawyer on your side. Contracts get broken, competitors make moves and even partners can let you down. It is recommended in fact that if you do have a business, you have a lawyer who you trust on your side, ready for any kind of action.
Accidental DUI
Now I am sure that the large majority of you do not have any intentions of getting drunk with friends and then getting behind the wheel of the vehicle. With this being said however, the large majority of DUI cases are not in fact for these reasons. For the most part, those who get stopped and how are under the influence, have in fact been out drinking the evening before, and genuinely thought that the alcohol was out of their system prior to them getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. In such a dangerous and worrying situation it is critical that you call a lawyer swiftly who can ensure that the stop and your processing is above board, and who can defend you in this case.
As you can see, you don’t have to be a criminal to require legal defense.
